Medical Director of Trauma & Surgical Critical Care

Riverside Health is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced physician leader to join our well-regarded Trauma team at Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC) in Newport News, Virginia. As the only Level II Trauma Center in the Peninsula Region, RRMC offers a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where compassionate, expert care meets collaboration and innovation.

Hospital & Role Highlights
• 15.25 twelve-hour shifts/month schedule
• Team of 5 experienced Trauma Surgeons and 5 dedicated APPs
• 18-bed Surgical ICU with full Intensivist support
• Single hospital coverage—no travel required
• Supportive in-patient APP coverage 7 days a week

Qualifications
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in relevant specialties
• Proven leadership experience in trauma or surgical critical care
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to mentor and guide medical staff in a high-acuity setting
