Location: Arlington, Washington Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2 Employee (Direct hire with our client in Arlington, WA) Sourcing Partner: AVD Workforce Connect LLC Working Schedule: Monday – Friday

Job Summary

AVD Workforce Connect LLC is sourcing on behalf of a trusted private practice for a full-time, W-2 Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). The role is employed directly by the private practice, based in Arlington, WA, with responsibilities that include providing onsite care for patients at the Arlington office and supporting students at schools in Darrington, WA.

This is a hybrid LMFT position, with the majority of work (approximately 75%) performed in the Arlington private practice setting. The hybrid nature includes a mix of in-office sessions and flexible telehealth services.

In addition, about 25% of the role will involve providing school-based counseling to students in Darrington.

A full-time caseload is defined as up to 25 active clients total, distributed across both Arlington (LMFT) and Darrington (school-based) responsibilities.

Compensation :

(Compensation is paid monthly and based on licensure level and daily caseload.)

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT – 75% of role, Arlington, WA):

  • $61.00 – $70.00 per clinical hour

  • Based on experience, licensure level, and education

  • Paid monthly

School-Based Mental Health Counselor (25% of role, Darrington, WA):

  • $150 per day for 3 students

  • $300 per day for 6 students

  • Paid monthly

Additional Compensation:

  • $400 monthly stipend to be used as you choose

  • Fully paid CEU allowance

  • Travel fuel stipend - (School-Based Mental Health Counselor)

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) (75% – Responsibilities & Requirements)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, couples, and family therapy in a private practice environment.

  • Conduct intakes, diagnostic evaluations, and biopsychosocial assessments.

  • Develop, monitor, and update treatment plans using SMART goal methodology.

  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, Family Systems Therapy, EFT, Trauma-Informed Care, and Play Therapy where appropriate.

  • Support clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship conflict, parenting challenges, and substance use.

  • Provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning when needed.

  • Facilitate family therapy sessions to strengthen communication and resolve conflict.

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other allied professionals to ensure holistic care.

  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical documentation within the electronic health record system.

  • Uphold ethical and professional standards as outlined by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • 3+ years of related clinical work experience.

  • Strong knowledge of family systems theory and developmental psychology.

  • Proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based modalities.

  • Experience working with couples, families, and individuals across the lifespan.

  • Crisis intervention and trauma-informed practice expertise.

  • Commitment to cultural humility and inclusive care.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to support documentation and rapport building.

Education and Licensure Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.

  • Must hold one of the following active Washington State licenses:

    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) – independently licensed

    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA – under supervision)

  • Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license.

  • Must be able to manage a caseload of up to 25 active clients, including intakes, assessments, and treatment planning.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use for documentation.

  • Telehealth delivery may require extended use of video conferencing platforms.

School-Based Mental Health Counselor (25% – Responsibilities & Requirements)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual counseling to students to help address emotional, social, and behavioral challenges.

  • Assist clients in overcoming life obstacles, including family issues, trauma, self-esteem, and school adjustment.

  • Must be able to manage a caseload of up to 25 active students, including intakes, assessments, case conceptualization, and treatment planning.

  • Facilitate student insight and emotional growth by encouraging reflection, skill-building, and safe emotional expression.

  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments through interviews, observations, and structured tools.

  • Develop, monitor, and update individualized treatment plans using SMART goal methodology.

  • Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation, including session notes and treatment records, using an electronic health record system.

  • Use therapeutic techniques such as play-based interventions and trauma-informed care, especially when working with children and youth.

  • Collaborate with school administrators, educators, and parents or legal guardians to support student well-being and coordinate services.

  • Act as a client advocate and respond appropriately in crisis or emergency situations.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • 3 plus years of related work experience.

  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities for children and adolescents, especially related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral concerns.

  • Proficiency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and related techniques, with the ability to apply them in a school-based setting.

  • Understanding of child/family systems and developmental stages, particularly in educational environments.

  • Commitment to cultural humility, inclusive care, and the ability to work respectfully with diverse populations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to support documentation, collaboration, and rapport-building.

  • Familiarity with ethical standards set by the American Counseling Association and the National Board for Certified Counselors.

Education and Licensure Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related behavioral health field is required.

  • Must hold one of the following active Washington State licenses or credentials:

    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate – pre-licensed, under supervision

    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor – independently licensed

    • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor – independently licensed

    • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker – independently licensed

  • If working as a pre-licensed associate, a clinical supervisor must be in place, and meetings must be scheduled prior to seeing clients.

  • Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license.

  • Must be willing to commute to Darrington, Washington, for school-based services (approximately a 90-minute round-trip drive). A fuel stipend will be provided for travel.

  • Must be able to manage a caseload of up to 25 active students, including intakes, assessments, case conceptualization, and treatment planning.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use for documentation

  • Long periods of driving may be required to meet school-based service needs.
