About the role!The Chief of Staff serves as a trusted partner and strategic force multiplier for the Chief Executive Officer. The person most successful in this role is highly organized, proactive, and a politically astute individual who can seamlessly navigate a dynamic environment (ranging from high-level strategic initiative to essential administrative support.) The Chief of Staff plays a pivotal role in optimizing the CEO's effectiveness, driving key projects, and ensuring the smooth operation of executive-level activities.This role reports to the CEO and offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the mission and growth of a leading children's health organization.
As the Chief of Staff, you will:
Provide Executive Administration & Support (approx. 25-30% of role) to:
· CEO
o Manage and optimize the CEO's calendar, prioritizing appointments and ensuring efficient time utilization.
o Draft, review, and respond to correspondence, including emails and other communications, on behalf of the CEO
o Set up, manage, and facilitate virtual and in-person meetings, including agenda preparation and technology coordination. Capture and disseminate meeting notes, identifying action items and responsible parties.
o Work with the CEO to produce presentations and ensure presentations, documents, and records are catalogued and available.
· Board of Directors
o Coordinate the comprehensive production of Board of Directors packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
o Partner with Board Chair and Board Committees to coordinate Board Calendar and Committee Charters, schedule and coordinate Board Committee meetings, and minutes. Serve as recording secretary, take and transcribe minutes of the full Board and Committee meetings, as requested.
o Maintain and update the board portal, ensuring all relevant information is current and accessible.
· CHC Management
o Oversee, schedule and coordinate Executive Team, Management Team, Program Leadership and One CHC meetings agendas, materials, minutes, and action items.
o Accurately capture and disseminate meeting notes, identifying action items and responsible parties.
Offer Strategic Support & Delegation (approx. 40-50% of role):
· Proactively anticipate the CEO's needs and provide comprehensive support for delegated tasks and initiatives.
· Conduct in-depth research on diverse topics, synthesizing information into clear and concise briefing packages.
· Lead and support various projects, taking ownership from inception to completion.
· Ensure timely follow-up on requests and commitments, holding stakeholders accountable.
· Proactively identify and work to resolve issues and challenges, escalating when necessary.
· Cultivate strong, respectful working relationships with the CEO, Executive Team members, Management Team members, select Board members, and external stakeholders.
· Represent CHC in designated forums and engagements, upholding the organization's mission and values.
Provide Project Leadership & Analysis (approx. 20-25% of role):
· Lead and contribute to strategic projects that enhance CHC's operational efficiency and impact.
· Conduct thorough research and analysis on policy trends, market opportunities, and potential risks, developing actionable recommendations.
· Drive initiatives such as the implementation of a formal learning organization strategy, exploring best practices and tailoring them to CHC's needs.
· Leverage data analysis skills to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.

About your background (education/experience):
· Bachelor's degree required
· Master's degree in International Health Policy, Public Health, or a related field is highly desirable .
· Demonstrates a strong foundation in policy analysis, research methodologies, and health system understanding.
· Demonstrated experience in leveraging technology and AI to automate processes, improve productivity, and integrate artificial intelligence. Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, STATA) is a significant asset for project-based work.
· Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and monitor projects, ensuring successful completion in a fast-paced environment.
· Proven ability to build and maintain close, respectful working relationships with individuals at all levels, from executive leadership to support staff, and external stakeholders.
· Demonstrated research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present findings effectively.
Working Conditions:
· A significant portion of the role involves desk-based work and meetings. Frequent use of computers and other office equipment is expected. Frequent movement within the office for various tasks or coordination of meetings is required. Requires effective communication, which involves speaking and hearing. Ability to lift (up to 20 pounds) and move equipment required for large meetings.
· May occasionally be required to attend CHC functions during weekends or evenings.
· Extensive interpersonal interaction with peers and outside contacts.
Compensation:
Range: $75,000-$90,000 per year

The actual base salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
