Job Description

Cost Savers is currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team. This position assists with management of day-to-day financial transactions of our grocery store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and supporting overall financial health and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Record and categorize daily financial transactions using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar)

Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis

Monitor cash flow, track inventory expenses, and update records for incoming and outgoing stock

Assist with payroll and employee time records

File and maintain receipts, invoices, and other financial documents

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking

Make daily bank deposits and ensure accurate recording of all funds

Qualifications

:

Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accounting clerk, or similar role

Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices

Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in financial matters

Experience in retail or grocery store bookkeeping is a plus

High school diploma required; associate or bachelors degree in accounting or finance preferred

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.

Must be able to work on weekends and holidays as required.

Must pass criminal background check.
